How to use the llms.txt Generator
- Name and summary. Add your company name and one sentence on what you sell, to whom and where. This line is what AI tools quote most often.
- List the pages that matter. Group your key pages into sections such as Product, Pricing and Guides, with a short note on each.
- Mark the extras. Put pages AI tools can skip, such as careers or press, in a section called Optional at the end.
- Download and upload. Download the file and upload it to the root of your site so it opens at yourdomain.com/llms.txt.

What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a proposed standard for a plain text file at the root of a website. It gives large language models a short summary of the site and a list of its most useful pages, written in Markdown, so they can understand the site without crawling every page.
Does llms.txt help with ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?
It can help AI tools read your site, but it is not a ranking switch. Google has said it does not use llms.txt for AI Overviews, and support varies between AI companies. Treat it as a cheap, low-risk addition to the real work: clear, crawlable pages that answer buyer questions.
What should a B2B company put in llms.txt?
