How to use the SERP Snippet Preview

  1. Paste your title and description. Use the exact title tag and meta description from your page, plus its URL.
  2. Check the pixel bars. Google cuts titles and descriptions by pixel width, not by characters. Green means it fits, red means it will be cut.
  3. Add your target keyword. Google often bolds words that match the search. Add the keyword to see where it appears in your snippet.
  4. Switch to mobile. Most B2B research starts on a phone. Check that the start of the description still makes the case.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a title tag be?

Google truncates titles by pixel width, roughly 600 pixels on desktop, which is usually 50 to 60 characters. Put the main keyword and the reason to click in the first part, in case the end gets cut.

How long should a meta description be?

Aim for about 120 to 155 characters, roughly 920 pixels on desktop. Mobile shows less, so the first sentence should carry the message on its own.

Does Google always use my meta description?

No. Google may rewrite the snippet using text from the page when it better matches the search. A clear, specific description that matches the page content is used more often.

Why measure pixels instead of characters?

Letters have different widths. Sixty narrow letters can fit where forty wide ones do not, so pixel width is a more reliable guide to truncation than character count.

Is my text saved?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.
